Amanda Bossard was just out of high school when she started her studies in marine biology at Alaska PacificUniversity in Anchorage. Bossard started her commercial seafood career in 1999 when she began working on the vessel F/V Sunset. The 65' schooner converted to the role of a salmon tender is owned by Murat Aritan. Aritan has been involved in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard, who is the wife of Aritan she has joined teams to take over their respective industries. The two are proponents of conserving renewable and sustainable seafood resources. Otolith has opened its market direct wholesale distributorship in Philadelphia after Bossard returned from living back at home with her daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre 1year old, and Andre 1, to Philadelphia. Its name is an affectionate reference to her deep fish biology knowledge and her husband's long connection to the industry of seafood, often keeping them apart for 5 months or more while they focus on the environment and financial goals that show their independence as well as dedication to the community in which they call home.
